Hackley and Hume Historic Site
The Hackley and Hume Historic Site, two of Muskegon’s most iconic late-Victorian homes, has some of the most ornate and beautiful porches in the Muskegon area. Numerous repairs have been made over the years trying to preserve the integrity of the porches, but they are now beyond spot repairs. We have partnered with the Lakeshore Museum Center to restore a main section of one of the porches. Using original materials that are still available as templates and black and white photos provided by the museum, the restoration has been started.
Much of the work will be done at our shop in Grand Rapids. An entire replica of the porch will be built, then taken apart and reinstalled on-site.
