Carpentry
Our carpenters start with a thorough technical understanding of wood: dimensional stability, moisture content, density, figure, and resistance to decay. We inventory a selection of custom milled lumber, and we’re able to make the tools we need to turn those into the boards we need. We include special attention to the mechanics of moisture: avoiding moisture contact, managing dimensional changes, treating susceptible pieces with chemicals, and detailing how water will drop free of the building. Careful design and the right materials are a better investment than caulk.
